We recently had the chance to photograph something truly special: a fully electric, custom-built 1973 Volkswagen Type 2 Samba Bus — now for sale through EV Works.

Originally built in Brazil, this bus carries the legacy of the iconic VW design with its classic charm and unmistakable silhouette. But under the surface, it’s all modern. EV Works reimagined this vintage vehicle with a cutting-edge electric powertrain, turning a collector’s dream into a forward-thinking daily driver.

We photographed the bus in its natural element — out on the road and parked in the sunshine — capturing its clean lines, thoughtful details, and that unmistakable VW energy. The resulting imagery blends a sense of nostalgia with a nod to the future, honoring the history of the Type 2 while showcasing its next chapter as a fully electric build.
